First Time Home Buyer !!!Should you buy properties from your friends and relations ???? NO not if you are me !!!Look for Sales Reps !!

A lot of first time home buyers tell me they have friends and relative who will help them to buy.The question is -Do you want to invest over Half a Million without consulting an expert? Should you buy properties from your friends and relations or on their advice.

Detached Homes are different from buying a Condo or Booking a New Condo. Google helps a lot but there are a lot of other unseen things that come with experience. On an average I show 20 to 25 home as a week. Do you think your friends or relations can have that kind of experience ? Ask your friends what will be the most expensive unit in a building and they will have no answer !!!!

Secondly,we are professionals not acting on hear say. We are part of http://www.crea.ca/ ,http://www.reco.on.ca/. We abide by the rules and regulations enshrined in code of conduct. Please refer to  http://www.reco.on.ca/about/resources/rebba-2002-regulations-code-conduct/

We are also licensed and a member of a local real estate board(www.trebhome.com/). All real estate salespersons and brokers in Ontario must participate in RECO’s insurance program. It provides essential protection for you and your clients and customers through its errors and omissions insurance, consumer deposit insurance and commission protection insurance. Refer to www.reco.on.ca/real-estate-professionals/insurance/.

Your relations and friends do not have any of these risks covered in any way ????
A Sales Rep in Ontario goes through a continuing Education programme to update his/her knowledge every two years. For details visit www.reco.on.ca/real-estate-professionals/education/mandatory-continuing-education/. Your Friends and Relations or Peers do not have that updated knowledge of the products or the markets !!!

Would you risk your money with people not up to date in knowledge ?

Lastly it is very difficult to disagree with your close friends and relations. There is a fear your honest questions will hurt them. The feeling of obligation towards relations can lead you to a wrong decision. Can you afford any such mistakes ?? I suggest you hire a Licensed Salesperson to provide you professional, ethical and responsible service.
